My dearest little Susie
Last night I got two letters from you, which was a great delight. I am glad you are well & keeping busy. About my coming home, I cannot fix a day yet quite definitely. It seems impossible to get from here to the French, and if so I shall come back next Monday. But I want to see [ST - General] Henry Wilson before departing, for it might be worth my while to stay another week or so there. Anyhow I shall be back by October 2nd or 4th, as want to go to Cloan [ST - Cloan the Haldanes] & Ardtornish. I should take [Evy's?] house from Oct 18th to Dec 11th with an an option of another 3 months.
Yesterday evening I set off to look for Arthur [Grenfell]. After a tremendous circuit of Canal I found the quarters, but A had gone to G.H.Q to see Lord Grenfell who is out on a visit. I found only Reynolds & Porter-Porter
