21th April 1916.

Dear Sir,

I have received the very obliging letter you did me the honour of addressing to me on the 12th of April, and I beg you, in the first place, to accept my warmest thanks for the permission you have been pleased to give me and for the kind offers you have made.

of your History of the War: the tenth (The Russian Stand and the September Offensive in the West) having been given to me just yesterday by the kindness of the British Brigadier-General now staying at my home.

Your most humble servant,

L'Abbé A. Callewaert

Curé de La Clytte.
