My own little darling

I was so glad to get your letter from Alloway this morning. Don't worry about me, little one. I am all right now, and quite cheerful, but for your absence. But if I get seedy again, I will come straight back. It would be the simplest plan. You are a brave good little [Huffit?], & not in the least one of the weak-hearted.

Send me on the cheque for the rent, which I will sign & send to Walter. Just get the bill of [Mantels & Willett?] in my top drawer. There is no hurry about it. My only need is the electric torch which I wrote to you about. I will ask for anything I require later. There is a splendid canteen like Harrod's stores, where you can buy any kind of cigarettes, biscuits, grocery, sweet etc. I have not much time to read, & Miss Alcock sends me all the papers

I require.

Yesterday I had a good long walk in the afternoon with Obby Beauclerk. To day I am going out with Gort, but it is raining cats & dogs. It is a great bore & looks as if the Boche God were getting too powerful again.

Geoffrey Robinson is coming out tomorrow for a few days. I shall take him about with me. I am very comfortable & happy, but I never stop thinking of la petite jaune. Send me the children's photos, & tell me anything you can about the blessings in your letters & about yourself. That is what interests me.

You are a brave little Susie & the time will soon pass. Let me know when you want any money, & run the house in your own economical way. I want to think of my little one cheery & comfortable

Much love to all

Your ever devoted

John
