My own little darling

I was delighted to get your letter this morning with its most interesting account of your Zeppelin experience. I will keep it carefully, as I keep all your letters. My fate is not yet definitely settled as the F O. have not finally replied, but I fear they won't withstand the arguments of GHQ.

I had a letter from George Brown about Jerry to-day, and am writing to him. No, I don't go near the front in my car. I lead a life of most inglorious security, & only visit Army, Corps, & Division Headquarters.

It is fearsome bad weather. I was here all day yesterday, lunched with Obby Beauclerk, went for a walk in the afternoon, & worked all the rest of the day in my office. It is slightly better to-day, & I shall go to some of the Divisions. I am enormously better & on the way to perfect health. I enclose you a letter from

I see Gerald Arbuthnot is killed.

If only the weather would change we should get on fast for we have a great chance.

I only want an electric torch to be thoroughly well supplied now. I had a letter from Nan today, who has just seen the wee boys off. They seem to have endeared themselves to the whole population of Broughton. I long to know how they looked when they got to London.
