My dearest wee mother
I have no news to-day. Susie was up again yesterday &
had Lady Ridley to see her. Wee John is very well & good. Mrs
Grosvenor is not very well & is in bed for several days. I went to
see her last night. Alice is very well & as strong as an
elephant. I lead the quietest days just now, dining at home &
reading to Susie afterwards. I was at the "Spectator" office
this morning, & had a parcel of books despatched to Walter. One is
a very jolly book, Hume Brown's 3 vol. History of Scotland.
