My dearest wee mother
This is a lovely bright day. I hope you are having
less stormy weather in Scotland. I am just writing to old William.
Susie is well & so is Prester John [ST adds " "]. We clipped a lock of his hair
yesterday. Alice Ashby St Ledgers came to tea yesterday & was
delighted at him. She is going out to India in January on
a short trip. I have not seen our Alice for two days.
She announced to Mrs Grosvenor yesterday that Minkie [ST: " "]
had had a baby! She's a queer child. Christmas
