My dearest wee Mother
I had hoped I might get up this weekend, but I am afraid it
will be impossible as I have a Board meeting tomorrow at 11.
I wish, too, I could have been with you at Xmas to try to cheer you, but
I think I will have to stay here. I am wondering how you are keeping.
Susie is very pleased with the shawls and things. It was very kind of you to
send them. I hope Nan got to Glasgow, and that you kept well
when she was away. Please don't worry about my cough. It is almost
gone and my throat is all right now. It is a very wet day today, &
my fire is smoking horribly. The Firebraces leave for India next
