My dearest little one

I was glad to get your kind letter this morning. You will have got my telegram saying that I would get up to-night by the night train. The Doctor thinks I

ought to come back here to-morrow. You see Willie is at a very critical stage. They are still very much afraid of his heart, & I should be near him as long as possible. Napier took off 2 pints of fluid to-day. He cannot eat any food & is constantly sick. Poor dear laddie, & he is so brave with it all.

I will come up (D.V.) with the night train to-morrow (Saturday) & be with you by 8 on Sunday morning. That will enable me to have a quiet Sunday.

I hope you are well, my darling, & the Wozer & the Hun. Willie sends you his love. Gran is a poor little tissue-papery figure. Nan goes back to Peebles

with me to-day.
