CAERLEE, INNERLEITHEN, SCOTLAND. 15. Sep., 1913.

My dear Buchan,

Very many thanks for "Montrose". As I told you I had already ordered, and have finished reading, the book. I am delighted with it. Your description of his meeting with Alastair is splen-did.

One thing I am deeply grateful for - You do Mark Napier justice. May I hope that you may, in the midst of the other labours, find time to write of your hero's kinsman, Claverhouse?

Things political here are going rather favourably.

With kindest regards,

Believe me

Sincerely yours,

H Norman Ballantyne.

P.S. I am sending this to care of your Brother

HNB.
