breath of country air. Susie went with Hilda [ST: Mrs Arthur Grenfell] to Roehampton [ST: House]
yesterday & returned laden with plunder in the shape of flowers in
pots. The new nursemaid has come - Olive her name is - and she
looks very capable. Sholto Johnstone-Douglas is getting married next week.
Hodder & Stoughton seem to be advertising Nan's book very little. I
must have them questioned. George's boy at school has got chicken pox.
Mrs Gervase Beckett died yesterday of consumption - such a nice woman &
only 34. I do hope Nan & you are keeping better & that
you are not trying to do other people's work.
