My own little darling

I got two letters from you when I got to Fairnilee last night. I am so sorry you are still to stay in bed. My poor little one, you must be very bored by it. Never mind. I will be home on Thursday evening & will cheer you up. I went to lunch with the Maitlands yesterday & Johnnie & his bride were there. She was looking very pretty, & Johnnie was in great form. I am lunching with him to day. There are no less

than 4 by-elections in Scotland now. I do hope we do well, for it is very critical. Maclean is getting Haldane to Peebles as well as Simon. I really must have a try for Harry Lauder.

We had a splendid meeting at Caddenfoot last night for my lecture. - about 200, & a most enthusiastic audience. I have to go to Roberton to night. Electioneering is a dull job without my little stag trotting behind me. My best love to the Big Friend & the Hun
