Dear Buchan

Thanks very much for Andrew Jameson whom I got from my wife when she met me on board.

I havent had time to look into it; but when I have I hope to write you some intelligent comments. I had a delightful week in Edin.^h and

met a lot of old friends, who were most refreshing.

What a lot of characters there are at the Bar on the Bench & elsewhere. Amongst others there was one dear old friend in Hospital from the effects of having gone entirely without food for 47 forty seven days. At the end of that time he fainted in the Par liament House, & re-

mained unconscious for a day or two. When he came to, he was impotently angry because he said he knew that if he had accomplished the 50 days he would never have had anything wrong with him again, which seemed very probable. You probably know him - G.P.McNeill, advocate.

The way the news was

broken to me by a brother advocate was that a member of the profession had beaten Christ's record. Of this they are quite proud.

I played a game of golf with Gillon, whom I think you said you knew - a very charming young man.

I trust we may meet again and that you will soon be in a position to personally supervise British legislation
