This is a lovely bright day. I had a visit from James Kelly yesterday. He is being called up & he wanted to get into some job where he wouldn't have to fight as he has so many people depending on him.

Tell Walter that before I can do anything about Robbie's grave I must know the number of his battalion. Will he send it to me? The Graves Commission will provide an official photo, but they take a long time & meantime I can get one taken by my own people

I suppose he can't give me the exact name of the graveyard. A substantial cross is usually put on by the battalion itself, but I will see what can be done.
Susie was out at a meeting last night so I dined alone. I had a long visit from Ian Hay [ST: the writer]. He has done wonderful work for us in America, & is home for three months to get
