Dear Buchan
I must write a[n]line to say how much pleasure I obtained from reading your charming memoir of the Grenfell Twins:
I never really knew them well; I thought I knew them apart; but could not swear to it:
Francis (my brother) told me such a lot about them, that I felt I knew them well.
He told me they never lost a chance; and always made the most of anything.

I have read a good deal of your work including Montrose, which I liked immensely; I merely write this letter, because I never read any memoir I liked so much as that of the Twins.
Yrs sincerely
George Scott
I heard from Francis from Kenya Colony:
They are stagnant there: He cant sell anything: He will have somehow to stay the course: I conclude in time things must improve. After all he "works": a crime forbidden in free Britain!
