7. and to think about a speech on the way. I realized that I had missed answering the main question viz whether I should go over the screed with a first class modern biblical scholar, as Robertson Nicoll suggests. Well, no I won't. It would do no good.
If he really is trying to spare my feelings and thinks

the thing rot and badly written: well you're a much better judge of that than Robertson Nicoll; and anyway it couldn't possibly be worse than any one of the many books that are published about the Gospels every year.
If it is a real suggestion piece of advice, I disagree with it.

The second part is the only part that Biblical scholarship would help in: Really the object of the second part is to hang a few notes on to try to get rid of some irrelevant matter that puzzles and perplexes people and prevents them studying Jesus. of this side of the Kingdom as the fate of Jesus is clearly true - I daresay a Biblical scholar could give me hints about the historical development of the Messiah idea, & the idea of the Kingdom of God: but these things are not really important: And as for Apocalypse & Greek influence I speak expressly under correction on
