My dearest wee Mother

We had a sprinkle of rain in the night, & the sky is overcast this morning. Maud goes off at

11; she has been a very nice guest. John Jameson is coming this evening for the week end.

Old Mr John returns to-day for good. We think we won't send him up by himself, but bring him up

with Alice between the 10th & the 15th. We are all very well. I have a mighty lot of work to finish before the holidays. Susie is very pleased [I bought Beckley Common - ST] with her small estate.

I think it is a good bargain, for it is certainly the finest site in Oxfordshire
