Dear Buchan,

I am taking the liberty of sending you a copy of your book "The Path of the King", and would ask you to be so good as to put your signature in it, & return it to me. I hope you will not consider

I am giving you too much trouble, but I do not remember ever having more enjoyed reading any book, & I feel I should like to have a signed copy.

I find the House very interesting, particularly the committee work,

and I only wish you were there to help us. Is there no chance of your coming back to politics? We badly want men who can expound the beauties of the English language, and the lessons & traditions of British history. I am reading Lord Roseberry's Miscellanies at present and thoroughly enjoying

them. If you are ever in Town I should be very pleased to see you either at the House, or out here. My wife wishes to be remembered to you.
