My dearest wee Mother

We got safe back from Oxford last night, though the train was very late owing to the thick fog. Johnnie has been such a good & happy wee boy. Alice is extremely well

Alice was extremely delighted by Nan's parcel this morning, & we were very glad to get her long letter to Susie. I am mending very fast. I had a letter from Margot A. [ST: Asquith] yesterday in which this sentence occurred "I have had such wonderful letters

about my book of gratitude - many from poor poor dying people - but I am not puffed up." Susie thinks the poor people must have been gratified because they were dying before the next vol. appears.

The [ST: Henry] Newbolts are coming for this week-end. I am lunching with

Harold Baker today. You will see me (D.v) at 5.30 on Tuesday.

I do hope I shall find you all well.
