My dear Sir -
I have just finished your fine book "The Path of the King", which gave me so much pleasure that I am starting to read it over again. Will you allow me, therefore, the permission to ask you one question concerning it. Have you any historical grounds for making Abraham Lincoln - one of the grandest figures in the world's history - to descend from the line of wonderful men that you have introduced? Pray forgive me for bothering you, but the book has so interested - I might almost say entranced - me, that I should greatly like to know if you have any historical grounds for your last two chapters.
Yours faithfully
Macleod Yearsley
