the P.M & found that the little man had fallen asleep from sheer weariness, so I didn't disturb him. The Gilbert Murrays came to dine. I was so glad to see Lady Mary again. She hasn't changed a bit since Glasgow.
[ST: General] Cecil Rawling came to see me yesterday - he is home for 9 days' leave.

I hope the weather is better with you, for Broughton in this weather won't be pleasant.
I have very little news to-day. Flanders must be a sea of mud, so we shan't make our next attack for a few days. Our casualties are, I am glad to say, very light. There is some hope that Basil Blackwood may be alive.
