My own little darling

I am so sorry you are off, but you will be very happy with the Blessings & you must try to get the full benefit of this lovely weather. It has been the most gorgeous day I have ever seen. Sandy came back this morning,

looking very well, but very cross at the vile weather he has had.

I had a long talk to Medill McCormick this morning & also to Robert Cecil. I lunched with Eric Maclagan at the Athenaeum. I am going to get Milner to table a resolution with the War Cabinet to have me put under

Mr Balfour or Carson or somebody to whom I can have access.

James Baird is back from his holidays. Hugh Walpole is beginning to wonder if he will be able to go to Petrograd at all in the present confusion. He roams round like an anxious wolf.

I do hope you won't be lonely &

will have good nights.
