We got a rare old bombing last night. Home Forces rang me up at 9.30 & told me the Hun planes were at Felixstowe. They got to London just before midnight as I was going to bed, and you never heard such a racket with Sirens & bombs. Some sounded as if

they were pretty near. The servants descended to the cellars, but old Edie insisted on remaining in her bedroom because she said it gave her a better view! I fear they have done a good deal of damage. I'm fed up with the Hun.
Captain Gibb, who was in the old 6th Scots Fusiliers with Alastair, came to see me yesterday. I enclose a
