I have had another monstrous day & have been unable to see the P.M. owing to the Allied conference. I have never got sat down to my work, for I had a Post Office & Cabling conference all morning, a War Office conference all afternoon, & an American Committee

meeting all evening. I am now about to dine with some Swedes at the Savoy. "It's a great life etc".
I am afraid to-day hasn't been as good weather as yesterday. I lunched with Stokes (of the Stokes mortar fame) - the good fellow who lives near Ockham. I had a peaceful evening with Fish last night, but I missed my yellow cab. [ST: family jokes]
