My dearest we Mother

This is a fine bright day. I had a busy time yesterday - at the Admiralty all morning. Then I spoke at the the luncheon the National Liberal Club gave me. There is no doubt Liberals make an

attentive audience. Susie came with me. They were very complimentary & wanted to print my speech. I saw David Guthrie, & also a man Wallace, who is in Michael Nairn's business, & says he remembered Nan & me going to School at Pathhead when we

were very small children.

I had Carson & Milner all afternoon & then I took the chair at the Swedish dinner. It's a busy world. To day I have more wretched conferences, but I have a quiet evening at home.

We are all very well.

I hope Nan has got copies of her book. [ST: GK] Chesterton is going to lecture to Susie's crêche.
