My dearest wee Mother

I opened a County Council lecture series on Saturday morning & was at the office till 3.30, & then we went down to Cliveden in pouring rain. I had a wonderful audience at the Hospital. There were several

wounded Jocks there from the 15th Division. Yesterday was a lovely day. Winston Churchill, the American, & Philip Kerr & Lady Victoria Bentinck were at Cliveden, & J.H. Thomas, the Labour leader, came down for the day with his wife & boy - a very interesting man. Susie & I came up in

the evening & found the children all well.

I shall have a busy day to-day, for I go to Paris to-morrow morning. I hope to get back on Friday. It is the dark-o'-the moon" so I hope the air raids will keep away while I am absent.

The children went with Susie to see Maud on Saturday morning.

I hope my wee Mother is fairly well. Many thanks for your kind letter on Saturday.
