My dearest wee Mother

This is a better day after 3 days of rain. I am feeling much stronger. I took my usual rest yesterday, & Dr Blaikie was well pleased with me. My weight is better than I thought - just over 10 stone. I think a fortnight's rest after Xmas will quite set me up.

There is a picture of me on the cover of the Xmas number of the "Bookman". We are all

very well. Alastair steadily puts on weight. Milner's old disciples are giving him a dinner tonight, with me in the chair. He seemed very pleased at our thinking of it.

I do hope your health keeps fair. Can you think of anything you would like for a Xmas present.
