MINISTRY OF INFORMATION, NORFOLK STREET, STRAND, LONDON, W.C.2. 12th December 1918. Professor Gilbert Murray, Board of Education, Sth Kensington, S.W. My dear Murray, I have been asked by Professor G. H. Palmer of Harvard, President of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, if there is likely to be any distinguished Englishman in the United States next June, in order that the Society may secure him for the annual oration in the University theatre. Can you tell me if by any chance you are to be in the States then? I hope you find electioneering amusing. All good luck to you. Yours very sincerely, John Buchan
