VICEREGAL LODGE,
DELHI.
22nd February, 1919.
Dear Buchan
Thank you for your letter of January 14th about
Mr. Farrer. I will certainly do my best to facilitate
his expedition. I have already written to Sir Reginald
Craddock, the Lieutenant-Governor of Burma, to ask him
to give Mr. Farrer all help, and whatever can be done at
headquarters I will do.
Messrs. Farrer and Cox have not yet turned up, but
I shall make a point of seeing them if they come this way.
I have not given you your military rank in
addressing you as I presume by now you are demobilized
and a civilian pur et simple.
Sincerely yours
Chelmsford
John Buchan, Esqr.,
[ST: Reginald Farrer botanist
of outstanding calibre also writer]
