My dearest wee Mother
Yesterday was the awesomest day of rain you ever saw, and to-day is not much better. I did a lot of work at home yesterday & saw a number of people. The children went to a party at the Max-Mullers, & I went to bring them home. Last night we had a Peebles haggis to dinner. You have no notion what a boon those haggises have been to me.
To day the holidays are over & the children's class begins again. It is the most popular class in London and Susie

spends all her time refusing people.
Nan's box arrived this morning & was received with joy by the children. She is the kindest lassie.
I get no peace for thinking of your health, wee body. Will you not see a doctor? I am so afraid for a complete breakdown, like seven years ago. It will be sad if we come up only to find you hors [ST: de combat]. Please for all our sakes be wise & see a doctor.
Much love to all
[illegible]
John
