My dearest wee Mother

Susie & I came up here yesterday afternoon in pouring rain, which still continues. We have got most comfortable lodgings, and an old landlord, who remembers both me & Willie. We went to tea with the Principal at

Brasenose, & then called on Miss Orr at St Mary's. She is a fine creature, & I think she liked seeing us. She was very full of you & Nan.

To day I am taking Susie round Oxford & in the afternoon we are going up to Boar's Hill to

see Marnie & Jerry. To-morrow we are looking at houses near Oxford, & on Thursday I take my M.A. degree.

It is very pleasant & restful being up here, though I wish the weather would improve, The children should be very comfortable with Miss [Bennan].

I have no news of any kind I do hope you are fairly well. We go back to London on Saturday morning, & I have to speak at the Burns dinner that evening
