My dearest wee Mother

I was glad to get your p.c. this morning. I do hope you are enjoying the Assembly. It was a pity you could not get a regular ticket. I sent you the

little "Graves" book to Edingburgh.

It is beautiful hot weather here. We are all well. Dr Blaikie is coming to luncheon to-day. Last night we had two Americans to dine & Harold Baker & Maud Wyndham (Hugh's wife)

Hugh is coming home in June & they have taken Mrs Grosvenor's house. Yesterday afternoon I had another go at the 'Greenmantle' play with my theatrical colleague. I believe "Mr Standfast" is selling well. Hodder is reprinting already,

& the first edition was enormous. I am going to have a very quiet week- end & chiefly sit in the garden.
