You & Nan are the kindest of folk. Alice is wildly delighted with your presents & it was so mindful to remember the wee boys. Alice has got a lot of small presents to [bring] in the trip to Elsfield on Saturday.

The weather has broken, but I do hope it may be fine on Saturday.
My poor godson [ST: horse called John Buchan owned by Lord Astor] lost the Derby yesterday by a yard. He would have won if his jockey had not tried to pass the winner on the wrong side. I am so sorry for Waldorf Astor to have come so near & yet lost
