I read the whole of your book last night and loved it. Very many thanks for making me one of the privileged. Your sketch of Raymond - the only one of whom I feel at all a competent judge - is exactly right; but I wish we could have a volume of his letters, or fragments, of them, printed for strictly private circulation. The scraps you gave whet the appetite, and

sent me to my old tin box, full of 1892-1898 letters; how good they are, and how utterly impossible to hand over to any less safe recipient than the fire.
