Dear Mr. Buchan, Of course I dont think you a curmudgeon for not sending me your little memoir of your four friends, it occurs to me

now! that, if all the friends of your splendid dead heroes asked as I did, it would be difficult to cope with the demand -

No I shall be content with reading your Memoir

of Cecil Rawling which his mother is going to lend us. I have about 24 letters from him written between July 1915 & the last, September 1917 which are full of his own individual charm & courage in adverse

circumstances - & these form a very charming memoir of our friend.
