Raymond and Basil in particular, and to a less extent Bron and Tommy Nelson, the more I feel how just your praises of them are.

I suppose that each generation of men feels, and rightly, that there never were such men as the companions of his youth, and that those who have followed them οἷοι νῦν βρότοι εἶσι cannot possibly be the same

thing. That is as it should be, and your book breathes the very spirit of friendship which was the life of our young days and is the comfort of our middle age.
