My dearest wee Mother

We were very glad to get Nan's delightful letter yesterday. Her description of "The Glorious Thing" was very funny. The electric light stuff has never

arrived yet, & I fought daily battles with the people in London - , otherwise Elsfield is getting on famously. Yesterday I had Belloc to see me & Jack Squire. Tell Walter he should get the latter's new monthly,

the "London Mercury". I lunched with Philip Kerr [ST: afterwards Lord Lothian] & Geoffrey Dawson. Nannie is coming up with me to-day to see her mother.

It is cold raw November weather, but what can we expect?

There was snow early yesterday

morning.

We are all exceedingly well. I have never seen the children more blooming.
