I spent yesterday with Beaverbrook in the country. Poor wee man, he is pretty ill, but very plucky. He was very glad of a talk. Sir Albert Stanley was staying there (the President of the Board of Trade), also a wreck with my old ailment.

I am off to Elsfield to-day for the day. I do hope we will get it settled this week. It is cold east-windy weather again.
I have had a horrible lot of letters about that Glasgow degree - chiefly from U.F. ministers asking me to give an address when I come up.
