My dear Colonel

Your "S. A. Forces in France" has just arrived and I hasten to thank you for sending me a copy. I shall read it with deep interest and I am sure you have done justice to the subject.

We have just had a General Election and every thing is still all excitement. The Unionists have suffered severely at the hand of Labour. It is not yet clear whether the republican Nationalists have damaged our S. A. Party. Life here remains worth living; when are you coming to see us again?
