My dear Buchan,

I wonder if you would be kind enough to give us autographed book of yours to include in a representative collection of authographed books which we could sell on behalf of the Village Hall we are building here as a Memorial to the Soldiers from the Parish of Steep who fell in the War? We should be very grateful for your help. The price of building now-a-days is rather grim and I have had to guarantee a good deal of the expense. I venture
