My dear Buchan
I was reviewing your book when your note came, and I haven't finished yet, for any blooming thing is simpler than trying to be simple, and any sort of gush is abhorrent in such a case. The fact is I feel the thing too much. Well, well, I'll do my best, I want to make the public who live on Dells read it. About my book I'm delighted you like it & my great wish in the matter is that it should be given a chance. Pawling promised me that he would make it easy, & I haven't the remotest intention of being difficult. All good luck,
Yours very sincerely,
Charles Turley Smith.
