My dear John,

Your delightful book fell upon me quite
unexpectedly and I am taking turns at it with others
of my family. I did not know the Twins at all and I
should like to talk to you about them when we next
meet. About that, please tell your wife that I am
trying to fix up December 3rd of 10th with Mansbridge
and will write to her as soon as I have his decision.

P.S. The Naval History should have reached you last
week. I have no idea whether you will be able to agree
with it, but I hope you will find it ship-shape and
Bristol-fashion.
