My dear Buchan

I wish before you left yesterday
I had read the later pages of your
spendid Chapter. The whole is so good
that I am ashamed even to suggest
changes. But as you enjoined me
not to destroy but at least to let
you see the notes I had made I send
them in a humble spirit. Just scrap
the lot. Anyone who can think and
write as you have done in this great
Chapter needs no assistance from me
at any rate
