Dear Mr. Buchan

I felt I must write to you after reading what you wrote about Dad in the Quarterly Review. I have read most of the articles in the papers etc. about Daddy, but none were nearly so nice (or so true) as what you wrote.

I have always wanted to know you, ever since I first read "Thirty Nine steps". Since then, I have read that and two others about Dick Hannay, so many times, that I seem to know him as an old friend!

I must thank you for writing such a wonderful story about Dad.
