Dear Colonel Buchan

Sir Ernest tells me that
he believes you would accept an
advance copy of my regimental
history. It seems a terrible impertinence,
but I bow to his judgement, and rely
upon the Christmas spirit for protection.
It will certainly be a very great compliment
if you will accept the book.

It ought to have been published
last month but the wraps got held up
after I left Canada to join the brothers
here; so we are not publishing till
mid-January and review copies will
not go out till the Christmas season
is clear. But will you please accept this
personal copy now?

Yours sincerely

Ralph Hodder Williams
