Dear Mr John Buchan ,
It would not be possible for me to commence your letter by saying "Dear Mr Buchan" because, in my heart, I always speak of you as John Buchan.
I have never forgotten the meeting we had during the War as your personality impressed itself upon me very much and it is a great pleasure to me to know that you approve of what I have done in regard to the Advocates' Library

Kindly accept my high appreciation of your letter which I shall always keep.
With kindest regards,
Believe me,
Your very sincerely,
Alex Grant
