I venture to write and tell you how great I have enjoyed reading your "Huntingtower", I delight in your take it has the glamour of true romance and what would life be without romance! - There is also at same time

a whimsical touch which I find a very agreeable salt; many modern novels seem to me mostly, garbage. I am old, Victorian and was brought up on Dickens, and Scott. Therefore I can appreciate Dickson McCunn's descent from [Niol Jarvie?] the Bailie -

Young people of today dislike Scott & Dickens and I despise them heartily for that dislike With thanks for pleasure you have given me and apologies for wasting your time if you read as far as this.
