I am much distressed to hear of your illness - it is very bad luck - but I am glad to think that if your body sores your spirit also soars.
We do not return to Lilybank Gardens till the 28th but Nurse and the children are there, and I think that Nurse will be able to

find a Sir Frederick Harries for you (which please keep). If she fails, I shall be in Glasgow on Friday and will send one myself. I have the old gentleman's 'Kinglake' with his notes in the margin, but these have been incorporated in my narrative.
Many thanks for your kind words about my Johnson - - Midwinter article. I could have done with more space.
We both send regards to Mrs Buchan and yourself and good wishes for a speedy recovery.
