Merrimans' at Harvard. I was taken to my
first American football match - a gory scene. That
night there was a dinner party of Harvard dignitaries,
including the President. On Sunday we motored to
Groton, the great school, and I went to chapel with the boys
& had to disperse my autograph freely. In the evening another
dinner party of young men.

To day has been a heavy day. I was shown over
Harvard in the morning, lunched in the Faculty, [was] the was
entertained at the fashionable undergraduates' club, &
finally at 4.30 addressed a crowded audience in
Boston - so packed that about half couldn't get in. Susie
says I did well, and it was certainly an inspiring
