HYDON END, HAMBLEDON, GODALMING.
My dear Mr Buchan,
This is one line to welcome you home after your wanderings. I shall be longing to see you, to try & tell you all people are saying about the Biography - you will be snowed under with letters of congratulation as there is a universal chorus of enthusiasm, & every one seems to be fascinated by it. It is so wonderful that my dreams shd. be realized, & that owing to your kindness of heart & marvellous grasp of the subject

you have been able to create this picture wh. is evidently going to influence for good 100s of people throughout the Empire. _ I am so intensely grateful, & my heart is full of thankfulness. I only wish I had your power of expression, in order to tell you more forcibly how contented & happy I am. _ One friend wrote "Buchan must have been inspired", another "I must try & be a better man that he lived & wrought so well", so you will find yourself basking in the sunshine of admiring enthusiasts, headed by every newspaper in England.

I have just returned home after paying a couple of visits & find your letter of Oct 28th from our dear old home. I was so delighted to get this "wavebeam" from Canada where we were so happy. I am so glad that we are still remembered by our friends. _ I wont write more, I tremble to think of the arrears you will find, wh. must nearly daunt your indomitable spirit. I return to London Nov 19th for a waiting & shall hope to see you as soon as you can spare me 10

minutes. _ I want to hear every detail of your triumphal progress. I trust you had a restful voyage home. Some day you & your wife must honour this tiny home & I think now we have the link of the book she will let me call her 'Susie', because it is surely a very big link, no one knows my thoughts & failings better than you do!! Love to you both
