I suppose I am your "original" for Tim Tarras but I can't follow why you've picked that name. The head & photo: of the famous cheque for the exploit in Inverlochy forest are on the wall here: if you are in these parts come & inspect them.

You've been extra careful in your camouflage! True I had black water (before the war) but did not peg out. I was in the trenches 1914 & got strafed almost straight away after which I got no chance to figure in the limelight. W.O. in fact sent me to W. Africa after my having spent my best years & talking like a native in East Central Africa! I suppose they thought these [in margin:] countries were neighboring parishes!!
